So a guy in my car club has a 65 (or 66?) mustang that he was slowly working on. Well last night at the meeting he was asking if I need parts. He decided to give up on the project and find something else so he has the shell and all sorts of new parts he's needing to get rid of. So I ask what kind of parts and he starts rambling on ..... suspension, fiberglass hoods, trunk, dash pad, black pony upholstery, disc brakes.... :wth disc brakes?! Oh yeah!! I didn't get a chance to find out the brand, but everything needed for the swap. I told him I need a lot of that stuff, so he told me to give him a call and we'll discuss parts. :yah

It sounds like a good time to send hubby out of town while you go over and "discuss" things with the guy.

I could use a set of black front seat covers if he's looking to get rid of them and you don't need / want them.

Some moron (who shall remain nameless because it's me) burned the lower seat cover with a work light on one side and my driver's side top is slowly starting to split at one of the seams.

:no Besides he isn't my type. lol

I believe he said he had front seats and rear. I'll double check.

Scoring MUSTANG PARTS.... sheesh!! :char
I thought that's what we were talking about, you SCORING Mustang parts (not if you were or weren't, just the best way to go about it :shrug )

I love Mustang folks, and folks in my car club. :yah Some of the nicest, most generous folks out there! :wor

I called the guy today to ask him how much he wants for disc brakes (and other things). My main thing is I want disc brakes before I put the engine back in. Well, next week I'm going to meet up with him and we're going to go through all the mustang stuff. We're going to make a list of everything I need and then agree on a price for it... and I get to take home and put it on Gertrude!!! I get to pay him every week until it's all paid off.

He knows I'm dying to get Gertrude back together for our car show and so this will really help!! Wow... I'm just in shock. To think I might be able to drive Gertrude within a month or two! :pbj She'll still be ugly on the outside, but I don't care!! Its MY ugly pony!

Don't worry about what it looks like, you can't see much of the outside but the hood when you're driving it anyway :steer

Kat,
Be sure you feel comfortable about the disc brake setup he has. Do you know if it's all new or refurbished original discs?

He said he couldn't remember what brand they were but they are brand new, never used/installed. Its a whole kit, from spindles to dual MC, lines, rotors, calipers, booster (they are power brakes), etc... and he remembers paying around $600 for it. It might be a csrp kit. I don't know of any other disc swap kits out there for $500-$600. :shrug
