Restoring Window Trim

Horseplay

I Don't Care. Do you?

So I'm looking to restore the trim for both my front and rear glass. Some where along its path, my car's trim suffered what looks like minor sandpaper scratches and more than a few little dings and dents. Not too mention someone must have used a screw driver to pry this stuff off at some point. I'm sure all of this can be worked out of it and polished up nicely...I just don't know how to go about it or where to send it. If it was just to polish it up I would take it on but the little dent repairs and such I think I would rather entrust to someone with experience.

I am making the assumption this is one item I don not want to go the way of re-pop parts. Right?

Looking for help in finding a reliable party to do the resto work. Thanks.

I always polished all my own stainless, but now I send it out locally, he charges 300.00 for the front and back moldings. It saves me a lot of time. The smaller parts I still do in house. Rich.

Rich,

Can you give me a name and number? So far locally all I have found have been a couple very high-end shops who are quoting me nearly triple your figure!

You're all a bunch of lazy bums.........I must have taught you well LOL

I did Shag's which has a couple dents and a few scratches. Not that difficult but time consuming. It was fun to do actually.

This time at least it isn't laziness as much as available time. So far I have set out to do/or have done everything myself. I'd love to do it all but I also want to drive it before I'm dead! I was hoping this would be something easily farmed out for a fair price...which it is starting to look like a fantasy. Maybe I should just order some materials and do it myself.

I'm a little concerned about using someone outside the area as I figure by time I crate it up (no way to I trust UPS not to crush and bend a box) and pay shipping to and from plus the actual cost of the work...

This guy just does it on the side for me, but if you want to send it to me I would take it over to him. I had one guy quote me 400.00 just for the windshield moldings.
