Removing key cylinder from ignition switch

There should be a slot in the back of the ignition. You may have to turn the tab on the cylinder or move the ignition portion to get the cylinder to seat.

the tab on the key cylinder doesnt seem to be long enough to seat in the ignition switch.

I ended up with a Scott Drake one that didn't work right last week also. I ordered another brand so I'll see if that one works. I had to send a Scott Drake one back earlier this summer with the same problem. When they work right, the whole process is easy.

this wouldnt be the first thing ive gotten from Scott Drake that didnt work. How can ppl continue to sell things that dont work

so after many hrs of messing with ignition switch. I picked it up the other night gave it another try and BAM! It seated. So the scott drake ignition is a good replacement afterall.

Sounds to me like the problem was an improper alignment of the sun, moon and stars during the previous attempt.
