Pike's Peak Climb. Propane powered Chevy 350.

To sidetrack this one right off the bat....

My cousin had a mid 70's Duster that he switched over to propane. He always had an overheating problem and he'd curse it all the time. My buddy coined the name - PFMF

Puckey Farty Muther ....er

We now return to the original post.

awesome vid!

But i would neither sit so close to the track, what if this happens :steer?

I found it kind of long and boring....

His dirt cornering skills could use some practice.

Otherwise, very good.

I have driven a 45 foot bus on roads up there up and over the peak at 12k feet. the air is way thin up there.... Those were the only roads I ever had any passengers get sick. They are, well, nasty with tight hair pin turns and curves forever it seems.

As for propane, I had a truck that was propane. It was very reliable but had less power than gas. When I worked on the farm most of the trucks were propane. they got 1/2 the mpg and less power, but the SBC seemed to take it much better than any of the Ford engines. I drive a van now with propane and it is a 5.4 mod engine, does OK, but can't climb a hill to save it's life.

Anytime I watch rally racing, or this type of road racing I am just flabbergasted by the people standing on the side of the road. I know incidents rarely happen where a car hits someone, but at those kind of speeds, and knowing that those guys are, in every turn, pushing the car and their own skills as hard as they can, it just leaves too much room for error.

I dunno, I just like a catch fence between me and the super-fast cars.

The guys that get me the most are they fellows who hang out just a few feet from the apexes. I bet it's exciting, but WOOOH, balls-o-steel.

It's the only way to get the perfect photograph though.

To capture something that the ordinary man will never see unless we capture it for them.

I'm always amazed at those that jump out on the track to grab photos....Can't find any vids, but if you've watched much you've seen 'em.
