Opinion on something auto related (not Mustang)

I replaced the bearings, rotor and pads on the TA a month or so ago.

It's still doing something funky and I think I have a caliper that's kind of old and crudy / sticking.

Thinking about trading out the calipers on the front this weekend. Just need to get one of the boys to push on the pedal for me when I get to the point of bleeding the lines. Wife could probably do it but would complain about it being hot the whole time, LOL!

I am thinking I should be ok using the same pads since the new ones on the car have about maybe 20 - 30 miles on them?

Yes, I see no reason why you would need to replace the pads being that new. Can't you install a miniture air conditioner on the dash of the TA while the wife if pumping the pedal?

Or, with the driver's door open put a big block of ICE on a lawn chair and a large industrial fan behind it, aim towards the interior of the car.

Or,,,,,,,,can't think of any other "cool" ideas.

Guess I could start the car and just turn the AC on? LOL!

I am wanting to take the car to a cruise in tomorrow night but gonna try to get the calipers swapped out. This evening the boys have a party at one of their friend's house till 9 p.m. or so. Tomorrow morning their baseball team has try outs from 10 - 12 but after that they are going to spend the night with their cousin.

Cruise in starts at 6:30 p.m. and I won't get back from dropping the boys till probably 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Thinking I can get it knocked out this evening if all goes smoothly. If not, guess I'll have to take the Mustang to the cruise in but I have some friends over there that have been bugging me to see the Trans Am. I haven't been taking it because of door issues but finally got the door panel put back on last Sunday. Had a heck of a time getting the power window / lock on that side to work but it's all good now, just took forever. Picture attached :)

You'll have to replace the brake pads if you get any brake fluid on them...

Have the wife do the pumping at night. Then have her help you bleed the brakes!

Got the calipers traded out. Pretty fast job.

In about three hours I traded them out, got the wife to help me bleed the brakes and yes she thought it was hot. It's only about 95 outside, what's the problem? LOL! Took it for a test drive, put T-tops on and washed it.

Thinking I need to tighten up the alternator belt though. Normally reads about 13 on the volts gauge but lately sometimes it drops to about 10 or 11, especially when I am sitting at a light idling, etc. Not quite in the orange zone at the bottom of the gauge but it gets close.

I can hear a belt slipping if I gun it in park but I am wondering if the alternator is going bad on me.

Have no idea how old it is but it does not look new. If I get a chance tomorrow I am going to take it off and take it to the parts store for a test. If it's locking up that might cause a belt to slip. I have to go over there to return a couple of cores to get my deposits back anyway.

Belt should be tight though. When I first bought the car it was sticking out too far and the belt was not straight. It has some sort of homemade bracket on it but when I was at my buddy's shop we worked on the bracket some and got the alternator sitting back more where the belt was straight.

I've thought about putting the correct repop brackets back on it but they would be a few bucks and a pain to put on so I just doctored up what was there and it seems to work ok.
