Open the trunk without a key?

My new 65 FB did not come with any keys. I need to get into the trunk for cleaning and rear frame repairs. My current plan is to remove the rear seat to gain access to the trunk but once I've done that I'd still like to open and remove the deck lid. Is there a way I can pop the latch from the inside? Thanks everyone.

From the inside, you can slide off the lock cylinder retaining clip and remove the cylinder. Once that is done, just use a screw driver from the outside through the lock cylinder hole.

What he said. My trunk as no cylinder and I just use a flat head screw driver to open the trunk.

you could also unbolt the entire trunk lid at the hinges and latch if you have trouble removing the cylinder.....

on 65/66 mustangs the trunk lock cylinder and chrome bezel are held on by a large nut-takes something like a 15/16 SOCKET to remove lock asembly so u might try some pliers to turn the trunk lock extension that sticks thru the latch-dont really know as i always remove the 2 -7/16 bolts that hold the latch to the tail-light panel part. however if the trap door is latched isnt the latch on the trunk side? good luck on your endever! wes

So I made a bunch of progress yesterday cleaning out the interior, but I didn't quite open the trunk and the reason why will be in the interior board.... can you stand the excitement?
