I knew I was in trouble when I started hearing a lot of hmmmmms out of the doctor, no stent or balloon, he said the main arteries along the side of my heart were too small for too long of distance for stents, and he isn't sure that the smaller arteries are big enough for bypass surgery,(have to something to sew into) now I meet with a surgeon in a week to get his opinion, they gave me plavix for blood thinning, more meds to slow down the heart rate and a couple bottles of nitroglycerin tablets---so much for the feeling great after a blockage is opened up. Golden years my a$$.

Sorry to hear that, but wait for the surgeon. My mother had similar, but the surgeon decided he could do it, and now she is doing great - and she was 72 at the time.

Yep. No reason to get down. They're simply making sure they take the right course of action.

Old plumbing can be fixed.....wait for the other doc....then maybe even another opinion.

Hang in there Rod, they'll get you fixed up in time for football season. I prescribe a lap top, NFL channel and the sports page so you can recouperate while you beat the snot out some of your StangFix buddies.

I might even pass along to you a couple of my more favorite Naughty Nurses web sites for late night entertainment. It would probably do you more good than one of them stent thingys. :thu

I wish you the best of luck. The Doctors know what they are doing and I am sure they will do whats best for you.

Did you have a history of High Blood Pressure? Mine was 148/100 last time I went to the doctors, but I was also very sick with strep throat. They want to re check it in a week or two.

I need to start eating better and loose some weight, I am 6'1" and 230lbs and 29 years old. I have a family history of heart disease and don't want it to be too late to correct it.

The doctors are pretty good at fixing things these days.

My step dad had pneumonia several years ago and that led to all kinds of irregular heart rate issues, etc. It took them a while with trial and error but they seem to have him straightened out now. At least it finally got him to stop smoking the cancer sticks.

Hang in there!

Yes it sucks getting old. I am trying to think of some words of wisdom, but none are coming to me. Hang in there and listen to your Doctors.
