Non Corn MPG

janschutz

Corn Hauler
I normally get 13 city and 15 hwy mpg with the corm gas. Last week, going out to the farm, I found a gas station that does not sell the ethanol gas. I got 18 mpg and I swear, it ran smoother. Just wish that the gas station was not 70 miles away.

Yep....sounds like a reason for a cruise.... "Honey, I'm going to run to the gas station".........lol

My lawnmowers run soooo much better on real gas. Plus, huffing real gas doesn't have that corn-like smell to it.

"Mid" they still make the good stuff round here. It doesn't have a gas taste at all and it beads up very well. Ain't tried to run no lawnmower on it though.

Curious, how do you tell it doesn't have ethonol blend? I guess it doesn't have a sticker stating it contains the blend?

Depends on the state. Some states require blends to be labeled, some don't. In NC for example, it could be 10% ethanol, yet not be labeled. If however, they label it as non-ethanol, by federal advertising law it must be non-ethanol.

All ethanol gas must be labeled in Texas. I looked up a place on the internet and then when I got there, I asked the station manager.
