At the Rock bottom Cafe and grill in Montgomery, Al
suspicious looking character in front of the white corvette and then again the mustang at the end...lol
Couple of good stories from owner. first the Dart swinger, the lady bought it when she was much younger and has owned it since new. Nice car btw, enjoyed chatting with her and her husband. #2 The dark colored Galaxy. it has the tri-power on the top end. The fellow owned that and the white corvette straight off the show room floor. The galaxy has an original 406 ci. It was very cool and quite original. He said (and don't quote me as I don't know diddly about big blocks) that was one of only a handful (maybe 100 or so?) that received the 406 with the tr-power carbs. This was done just before the Thunderbolts came out. The white corvette was just gorgeous and untouched inside or out. One of the best I have ever seen, outside of a museum, that had not been restored. I would love to own either of those....lol The last thing is the green Challenger. The guy that restored it found it in a junkyard in Georgia in very good condition and purchased it for $2500. Took it home and did a little work to it and it fired right up. Body was straight, just needed a new hood and truck lid. Also, he only lives 5 miles from me...You just never know...lol. The thing that struck me as very odd today was there were only 2 mustangs in attendance. A silver coupe and the Mach 1 at the last pic. I did drive the '66 but was too late to enter as I had to add the oil and fire it up this morning and set timing etc. after the oil pan/pump job. I really like the HEI distributor and it runs like a dog with a bee up it's butt. :yah Somebody did a nice burn out leaving the parking lot....lol :roll
