Here's how my mpg breaks down:

Between Gilroy and Lost Hills: 172 miles, 10.29 gallons, 16.72 mpg
Between Lost Hills and Barstow: 178 miles, 8.78 gallons, 20.27 mpg
Between Barstow and Vegas: 153 miles, 7.96 gallons, 19.22 mpg
In and around Vegas: 88 miles, 7.06 gallons, 12.46 mpg
Between Vegas and Boron: 187 miles, 10.64 gallons, 17.58 mpg
Between Boron and Coalinga: 195 miles, 10.26 gallons, 19.01 mpg

Overall 17.7 mpg.

Checking the mileage on Google Maps between all the fill-up stations shows that my odometer reads about 1-2% over compared to Google Maps. That's a lot closer than I thought. That means my actual fuel economy is about 1/4 mpg less.

Mike, how did you do?

Mike, do you have the data between each fill-up? I'm curious to see if you had similar results to mine, ie: best mpg between Lost Hills and Barstow.

Now all you need to do is install a T5. :hide

Yerp that was the fill-up I said I got 13mpg :yah

we must have had a tail wind and going downhill.

My 67 made 11.4 MPG from Las Vegas to Ontario, CA. 300.00 for the entire trip. I'm sorry I missed the BBQ on Friday, I was looking forward to it.

I got 18 from Vegas home to New Harmony North of St George at 85 most of the way.

Oh, sorry I wasn't in either Mustang, was in my Durango with 5.7 Hemi.

I was paying more attention to mileage since Vinnie's gas gauge on the 'vert was working and we got nearly 20 MPG in mixed, mostly rural/freeway driving, from Fuquay-Varina to Charlotte and back. Rain or dry, that car just hummed along at 65-70.
