modifying a single plane intake

So long story short, I ended up with a Pro Products Hurricane single plane intake for my 351w for free. So, with cost associated with the intake, I thought I'd play around with it. Got this itch and just couldn't scratch it until I did it.

Untouched runner divider.

Drilled out the runner dividers.

Knocked out the divider.

Cleaned out excess metal with a carbide bit.

I don't know if this will do anything other than look better, but I think it will promote a cooler intake charge :dun Plan to get the runners smoothed out, not really polished but close and paint the rest of the intake black leaving the runners semi polished. I think it will look good.

I too thought about painting the underside of my intake (AirGap) black to kind of highlight the runners but in the end didn't go that route. I agree it should look good. I don't think your mod will make much if any difference from a performance standpoint but it certainly looks better.

i think the coolant temperature dictates the intake temperature given enough time to let it heat soak.
