Looking for an original aluminum honeycomb '65 grill

I'm getting my car fixed after hitting a Fed Ex truck a few months ago. One of the parts bought was a new repro grill...what a POS!

For $75, you get this flimsy thin sheet metal joke of a reproduction. Its not a knock on the supplier, its just a sign of the times.

I stripped the paint off of my old grill and clear coated it when I restored the car years ago. I want the same look again.

Anybody got the grill in good condition (no broken honeycombs, etc)?

I've got one that came with my 65 but it's not perfect. I can try to take some pics if your interested...

Its a bit banged up. Pretty good except for a butchered hole near the center

So as to save the entire membership the task of loading a bunch more pictures, this link should go to the gallery:

I'd sooner keep the grey one since it's original to my car, but I'm not married to either of 'em. They both have some kinks and wrinkles, but no holes or tears. Ignore the masking tape, that's how I keep track of hardware.
Hope this helps

Dennis, the black one with the horse looks to be in the better shape of the two. Is that a fair statement? I dont need the horse, but i'll take it if you want to keep them together.

I'd say it's a horse apiece as to condition. The black one is a bit less wrinkled on the honeycomb surface, but has a couple sharper kinks on the top flange. As far as the horse and corral, I'll take it off, 'cause I can't remember whether it's in better shape than my original or not. What do you reckon the grill alone oughta be worth? I'm not looking to rape a fellow 'fixer, but I don't wanna give it away, either.
Maybe we should take business offline. Why don't you pm me.

I have the same issue with a recycled Coke can reincarnated as a GT grill.

I hear that the reproduction grill from NPD is much better.

I wonder how many different replacement grills there are.
