NEWS HERALD STAFF REPORT
GRACEVILLE -- A Washington County man has been charged with selling “moonshine,” according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested was Paul Edward Daniels, 170 Kent Mill Pond Road, in rural Washington County. He was charged with sale or delivery of untaxed liquor, to wit moonshine, and possession of more than one gallon of moonshine.

The arrest came after an investigation by agents with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and investigators with the Drug Task Forces in Washington and Jackson counties.

During the investigation, information indicated that Daniels regularly sold gallons of homemade “moonshine” alcohol, and agents purchased a gallon of “moonshine” from Daniels in Graceville, JCSO said.

A search of Daniels’ house and property later was conducted and equipment and ingredients used in the manufacture of moonshine was discovered, JCSO said.
