How to destroy America

Can you believe this guy was a Democrat Governor of Colorado? He was never very impressive until now. His comments are right on the mark.

Wherever you stand, please take the time to read this; it ought to scare the beejeebers out of you!

We know Dick Lamm as Governor ofColorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America.

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.'

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:

'First, to destroy America, turn Americainto a bilingual or multi-lingual and bi-cultural country... History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar,Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, andLebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistanand Cyprus have divided. Nigeriasuppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

    Lamm went on:
'Second, to destroy America, invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

'Third, we could make the United Statesan 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, un-assimilated, under-educated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying Americawould be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology...' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority.'

'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precept. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the 'Unum,' we will 'Balkanize' America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having madeAmerica a bilingual/bi-cultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel Americadeserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United Statestoday. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states to date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a Californiawildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

If you care for and love our country as I do, take the time to pass this on to others just as I did to you.

NOTHING is going to happen if you don't!

Snopes says he gave the speech in 2003. Full of contradictions, IMHO.

Snopes.com is the 'CNN' of the internet. Not believable. But ok, lets go with that. You forgot to add the link AND one important sentence . . .

"Lamm told us in mid-June 2005 that this text represented a reasonably accurate account of a speech he had given a few years earlier:"

Youre kinda like the lib/leftist that counts off for spelling and/or grammar so you can dismiss the entire discussion.

Mark never made the statement that this was a recent speech. Snopes confirms it actually was given by the Governor, so I’m not quite sure why you needed to make a statement about its accuracy. Considering most of us ignore your opinions, humble or not, I guess you just like attention!

As to the speech context, I would agree that statements made are exactly what is tearing our country apart. You can’t bring a country together by continuing to drive a wedge between folks and fail to have immigrants assimilate into society.

When I read the words 'last week' I somehow thought that meant last week. My mistake. And thank you for your kind words.

Genuine question, Gary. Not trying to start a fight. An honestly, serious question.

Why do you come to this site?

You have rarely, I dare say next to never, post anything about mustangs. I can't recall a single post you've made in reference to helping answer any car questions that other have asked. Nor do I think I've ever seen you post asking something about you car. In general your presence here seems to have never been about our site focus, mustangs. Seems the closest you've ever got, that I can recall, was a post or two about the Power Tour.

We wouldn't even know you were here except for the occasional political posting someone makes where you reliably respond in the same way each and every time. Seems to me you could find a thousand other places to go and have internet squabbles about politics where that might be the focus and you could find like minded people to chat with. What's the draw here? A place where virtually every regular poster sits on an opposite bench. Why bother?

Why hang out in a place with a bunch of car guys you seem to have next to nothing in common with? I sure hope you are getting something more out of it than it appears.

Why does my presence cause you so much concern? What does it matter to you why I come here?
I come here because, for the most part, it is a very friendly and welcoming community with good info about a car that I love. As for answering questions, they are usually answered by someone else before I even see them. As for asking for advice, my car has been well sorted out for years, having made two complete Power Tours without incident. I am satisfied with the way it runs and drives, so I pretty much leave it be, with mainly just regular maintenance. As for the politics, what is a discussion without an opposing view point? Why does seeing an alternative point of view upset you so? I don't come here to ruffle feathers, as I am by nature a generally non confrontational person, unlike some here. But that doesn't stop me from having an opinion. Oh, and one more thing... I refuse to be bullied into silence by self appointed site police.

I dont think anyone is trying to 'bully you into silence', Gary. A post is made and folks chime in. You being the lone dissent, from my observation, are given information that you may not be privy to in order to widen your knowledge on the topic. You attempt to refute that info with sometimes ad hominem talking points or fake news sites as proof and people get frustrated. Its the way it is. Other forums I belong to have similar players and results. I, on the other hand listen to MANY different sources daily in order to know what is being said/thought by all sides. You may too. Ocassionally I like toss topics out to keep things lively and to see what others I am familiar with think. Other than my analog friends. I have family and friends I dont agree with politically, we talk about other things most times. When the admins took off the locks for this section I was glad. That means everyone is up for spirited discussion.

It doesn't matter at all to me if you choose to post here. No one is trying to silence anyone. I simply wondered why you choose to lurk here save for the occasional, predictable political postings.

Always. The one smart thing I'm consistent at. Surprises me though how many people don't, even kids, on those trails.

Wait this thread was how to destroy 'merica. Not how to destroy Duane. Oh crap I forgot this is the Fix where threads are infamous for going off tangent.

I spent a week of vacation in Pennsylvania with family and friends. Pennsylvania used to have a helmet law, but I am told that it was repealed. That is just crazy.

Continue to let the DimWits be in charge of this country and they will destroy it completely.
They have decades of experience and using books like atlas shrugged and 1984 as guides.

More from Lamm in a personal interview, it appears in 2013:

Chuckled at the comment from Jon Caldara about the past collegiality in politics, that they'd throw tomatoes at each other then go out and have a few beers, a fundamental respect for humanity even if with different and competing philosophies. IMO we've lost that and tribalism is on the rise. Will it rise to the level of 1860, IDK. Hope not. That'd be a wide-open opportunity for Mexico and the Chicoms.

With the Leftist Tribalism that will not accept the 2016 election results at all.
What will they do if they fail completely in Nov of 2018?
