Grill restoration questions???

I want to clean up my old gril trim and corral. I need to save some cash for now and I can replace these parts later. Anyone have any good tips for cleaning 43 years of road grime and tarnish off these parts...
1. Corral
2.Grill opening panels
3. Grill, what color paint do I use black or some other color?

I used Simple Green and a brush (not to stiff) to clean my grill and trim and then masked off the chrome on the trim pieces and pained the grey area with argent paint bought at the local Mustang store. I suppose you can use it also on the corral too, masking off the chrome areas. I painted my grill with Krylon 1613, that number has been discontinued (semi gloss). All looked brand-new afterwards.

I did something pretty much similar.

Basically just cleaned it up and sprayed a new coat of paint on it.

Need to do mine again at some point. After a year to year and a half I've got a rock chip or two in mine.
