Fender roller instructions and stuff.

OK, here are the Fender Roller Instructions so you can read ahead and study them before you get the Official Tool. The instructions start on page two, but page one was just the cover picture. Apparently, there were 2 sets of instructions, so I included pictures of both.

So here is a picture of Dirty Harry (long term project.) with the Tool all put together and on the hub.

Attached to the hub, 2 lugs were sufficient. The roller has some cuts on it, I think it was positioned on the fender lip previously, and the fender cut it. I recommend taking either a rubber mallet, or hammer if you have more control, and tapping the fender lip up slightly to get the roller started. Once the fender has started to bend, it's much easier to use the tool.

Now, all you have to do is increase the pressure by rotating the handle, aka pressure bar, the one with two round red knobs on it. After awhile you'll get the hang of moving the roller back and forth with one hand while you increase and decrease the pressure on the pressure bar. You'll keep moving the roller back and forth until you get the lip flatter.

Note you will not get the lip completely flat. You will also find that you have to adjust the wheel angle and height while working the fender radius. If it seems like you have run out of adjustment on the tool, the vehicle hub may have turned. Turning the steering wheel may also help you to get the adjustment you need.

Here's a picture of what it may look like when you are done. My fender was previously rolled by hand, PO did it and not very nice, so the waves you see were already there, they're just flatter now. Good luck and have fun!
