Cedar plank trout tonight!

Went camping and fishing at Yankee Meadows last night. Caught my limit of trout. 2 cutthroat and 2 browns. Decent size for cedar plank.

Will post pics of the done fish!

Nice catch Mel. Cedar plank is one of my favorite woods to grill with.

All of them have pink meat! They were hungry for sure! I wish the limit was more so I could smoke some as well.

I guess I have to get my wife to get a license and go too. Then I can catch 8.

mel what were you using as bait? I've been taking my son trout fishing this year... First season in 15 years for me. We've come home empty every time.

Rainbow power bait in yellow and orange with sparkles.

I use a sliding sinker and a swivel to keep the sinker off the hook. Since trout are sensitive to the weight when they bite, the sliding sinker will allow the line to move freely and you can use the heavier ones. I use 1/2 ounce do I can cast it out farther than the other guys.

With this setup no boat required!

My SIL says I don't know what I a talking about, but I have always out fished him 2 to 1.

This lake is pretty awesome. The bite starts about 9:00 am tapers in the heat of the day and comes back in the evening.

With the bright moon last night I should have done some night fishing.

My favorite fishing is for Yellowtail, but these trout will do.
