Carb Issues

I thought I already posted this but I cannot find it. How do you check for a vacuum leak on the intake or whether the leak is on the carb?

+1 Be sure to use the little tube too. It helps concentrate and confine the spray to a small area. Just a little squirt at a time will also help in localizing the source. Squirt, pause, listen for an rpm increase and move on.

I find it also helps to lower the idle a bit....makes the increase easier to hear. Also, spray from all angles. You can miss spots real easy.

Found it. It was the thermal choke tube cover in the edlebrock intake. Tomorrow it comes off and I reseal it. I used the carb cleaner as reccomended and found it.

Well I sealed it and it still leaks in the same location. I have to do it again and make sure that I seal the holes where the bolts go thru. I am also getting a leak around the vacuum advance on the distributor. When I spray it directly on the VA it gives a popping sound and the engine revs up a bit. Any ideas what that is about?
