Can I use these pullers on my 390s balancer?

Can i use the same puller for my 390 as I used on my 302?



I saw a different kit online but I wanted to see if my pullers would work before I buy another kit.

Shouldn't really use that type on any harmonic balancer, you have a good chance of damaging it by pulling the outer ring off.

when I pulled mine, used the autozone tool thru their buy and return tool loan system...

In my opinion : Any puller is ok as long as it pulls straight off the chrankshaft and stays off the outer ring.

I found a link while googling that showed the jaw puller grabbing the balancer from the 3 inner holes in balancer to pull it off.

that is the one I have and it has always worked great. I would not use jaws to pull any type of pulley, risk the damage and maybe not notice it until it comes apart at 70mph.
