Bit the bullet...

...and ordered the pieces to convert to 70 style bolt in glass for the Mach 1.

I spent hours trying to get the original door glass into shape to be reinstalled, but in the end the scratches were too deep, the chipped upper edge from the previous owner's misalignment too annoying, as well as the blemishes from flying metal sparks (probably my own fault) were too obvious. In any event, once I determined I needed to buy the new glass I decided it would be stupid not to convert to bolt in. After all, what's another couple hundred dollars at this point?

With any luck my Mach should have all the glass in this weekend, and the only remaining items to be bought will be the interior door panels. If NPD were publicly traded, I am sure their stock will be going down without further purchases for this car!!!

Good decision going with the bolt-in glass, you won't regret it once the sting of the initial purchase wears off :thu

I imagine you probably frequent the other forum, but just in case you hadn't seen this thread yet, I'm going to throw a link up:

http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/vinta ... nnels.html

"Apparently the actual manufacturer has made a lot of these panels where the mold for the left side courtesy light mounting holes got misaligned. When you mount your courtesy light in the door, the light is obviously cockeyed (clockwise rotated). It definitely contrasts with their opposite side panel."

Just something I would want to be aware of before I laid down a considerable sum of cash. I'm going to keep an eye on the situation myself, as I may be looking to grab some in the not-too-distant future.
