bad days with stang restoration

Is it just me that has bad luck with one particular mustang that im trying to finish 68 bullitt car seem to come across one problem after another and thats using all new parts,sometimes you feel what the hell just get one thats done,anyway rant over
 
Nope, not just you. I think everyone has probably been there.
That is the same story with my car and my efi swap. My car hates me.

I have that feeling every time I work on my '66. I swear my mustang is trying to kill me. All the cuts & bruises I've gotten. I keep telling my husband I'm going to rename it Christine. Half the time I just wish I could sell it and just buy one already done, OR win the lottery and send it Doug's shop and let them deal with it.
 
I am right there with you. I am in the middle of a cooling off period with my car. I am just not interested in looking at it. Can't even think about working on it right now.
 
I'll take 'em all! I love the pain, the blood, the sweat, the tears! Most of all when they are done (okay they are never really done) I love to drive them (except when they break down and leave you stranded of course!).
But really, what else would you do...drive a Prius? no, I don't think so!!!

My car fought me pretty hard at times, but I'm enjoying the heck out of it now.

Still not sure sure if it was persistence & perserverance that got me through or being too stubborn and/or dumb to know when to quit :roll
 
I feel your pain, ususally I give the car a name when I start, but it often changes a few times during the build (words I can't post in this section). When it all works out in the end, it gets it's name back. Sounds like its a good time to walk away from it for a day or two.

Yep. I've been storing my hood now for a few weeks on the roof of the car as I've done a few projects. Yesterday, I jacked the RH front corner up and as I was positioning the jackstand, heard a huge crash. Of course it was the hood and its drop-cloth that had slipped off now-angled roof of the car. Badly folded the rear corner of the hood and ruined the front hood trim. Stupid but plausible, as I have no good place to store the hood in my tiny garage and it had been weeks since I put it on the roof so it was not front-and-center in my mind to worry about.
 
I far more respect guys who do their own cars instead of building one with a checkbook.

Just try and do one thing a day, or week to it, and it will get done.

I twice had two different Mustangs built, and couldn't get them to run right, but you always seem to figure it out.

The internet with forums like this help tremendously with that.
 
I named my current project the Green Monster! been ignoring it for about a week because it isn't cooperating
 
I too have felt it and in a way more than I really think I should have.

I spent 1 week re-spraying my hood that really was fine in the first place but I saw this little spec of green in the white stripe... I redid it 8 times over that span and truly doesn't look as good as the first time so I will re-shot it in the spring and hopefully be done with it. Besides I'm jonesing for another one and it took some 3 years to get over that one. I took a break and educated myself on toyota landcruisers. This hobby is suppose to be fun and when it is not, walk away is the best medicine to get your groove back.
