anyone looking for paint work in the DFW area??

I have a 1950's gas pump and coke machine that I need painting. I have the paint. Anyone know of someone wanting side work or that is out of work needing some $'s? I am in Grapevine Texas...

email me at todd at thevintagecar dot com or pm me

This would be an opportune time to try your hand at painting. The scale is not too large that you couldn't afford to have to re-do a mistake or two. Honestly, painting is not too hard if you take the time to do the prep well and use decent equipment and materials. You'd appreciate the finished product so much more had you sprayed it yourself.

too bad you can't find them a ride to nashville. i've done that stuff for over 20 yrs.. if you need any good parts sources, let me know.

I could use any sources for gas pump stuff.. I need the globe and stuff to make the gas pump like a ford service pump.

On the coke machine, I need the internal stuff..coke racks, coin changer..etc..

Those are pretty cool. I have an old 50s gas pump I have been in the process of restoring sitting in my garage . I haven't touched it since I got the stang. Sometimes I forget its out there.

that vendo 80 looks like a good straight box! i would start with funtronics for the parts. what they don't carry, you might have to search ebay for. there is also a vintage soda machine forum that you might be able to source some parts from (& maybe a restorer local to you).

funtronics: http://www.fun-tronicsllc.com/

check vics 66 for the pump parts: http://www.vics66.com/

we'll have to work a deal on one someday...

Here is a picture of mine. It's got a long way to go yet. I have all the Chrome and trim pieces but they will need to be redone. Still need a sinclair globe for the top.

Yep..been to both of those sites.. They are a bit expensive, but figured that is the going rate for parts...

Those are pretty cool but my wife would say " :wtf are you going to do with one of those? "

I wonder if those will work on a gravity feed setup? 200 gal tank up on a stand and that pump next to it.

the pumps are driven by an electric motor, so will work on above or below ground tanks. thing is, most people take the guts out of the pump when they restore it if going inside. if you don't, the stale gas smell is horrific. some of those things still have gas in them thats 40 yrs old :barf1. i still see many of the old pumps in use on farms around here sitting next to a big above ground tank...
