Another hobby of mine...

...is photography! Got a chance to play with an ultra wide angle lens and fired off a couple shots to get the hang of avoiding distortion as well as intentionally creating it.

If only I had an interesting subject to shoot...

Please post any and all pictures of nekked wimmen; I'm sure all of us are more than willing to critique your style...

Model auditions are officially open! Keeping in mind that wide angle lenses tend to enlarge the objects closest to them, I wonder where I should focus...

Nice work, but I think you cheated us out of some assembly pics. Looks like you finished it. :shrug

Untrue!!!

And I've got the photos to prove it... if you looked over on the interior board you would see I still need to finish the door internals. Sorry this is such a poor shot, but seriously I am still getting used to this ultra wide angle lens. The straight on shot of the rear of the car above was taken about 10 inches from the gas cap! This interior shot was taken reaching in through the driver's side window and was about 6 inches from the steering wheel.

What is this word 'finished' you refer to? :D

Rory, I was going to ask you to post some more pics of your car, but I see you have some in your gallery. Looks good!

Rule #1:

"Never even hint to an amateur photographer that you want to see more of their pictures..."

By the way: a call out to Stuart at Python restorations and the Rimblow Buddy: The three main things I did not do myself on this car were the paint, the rimblow restoration, and the seatbelt restoration. I am very happy with both the Rimblow Buddy and Stuart/Python. (I am very happy with the paint too; but their services are obviously local...)

I heard Kat is seeking a job.... :roll

Why hasnt this car been nominated for CoTM? Although the front end MIGHT be higher than Jake's, still a sharp looking car!

Another lesson I learned the hard way... "you can always make the spring shorter, but making it longer is expensive". I never dial in the ride height until everything is back on the car... but your point is well taken.

I nominate for it to be nominated next month. :thu

Thanks for the comments and nomination... a few of the thousands of progress pictures over the years:

Are you going to use repop deluxe door panels?

I still have my originals in the car. They are quite nice except around the cup area.

I'd be interested in how they compare.

Yes. This car was in rough shape when it I got it... you can tell from the picture the driver door took a good hit and it broke the window. The car was parked for several years with the window down, and although it does not rain much, enough water got in to ruin the driver side floor pan (perhaps sprinklers hit the car?). But an open interior left outside in the heat of Los Angeles does not age well and the door panels were ruined.

I am going to use the panels from NPD. There are apparently two suppliers, and of the two I like the ones carried by NPD the best. I will happily post pictures as well as a review of the product, but given my business priorities it may be a month before I get to this. In the mean time I will get all the door internals restored... and hopefully I will get the car in for a dyno pull tomorrow too!
