My parents are now "snow birds". Winter here in SoCal and summer in Pennsylvania. Mom gave me a key to their home to check on it while they are away. So I went out to their place on Friday started the cars and let them run for a little while. I left my GT there and drove Dad's vert home. Gave it a bath, and took it to a show on Saturday. http://www.ieclassicmustangclub.com/ Park and Bark In the last 2 years the only time that it has been driven was to the Knott's show in April. Dad can no long drive or work on his cars. So today I checked some basic tuning issues. I pulled a spark plug and check the gap, over .040, should be .034. They were all that way, and some were only finger tight. Adjusted the dwell and timing. It does seem to be idling better now. Next I need to recheck the carburetor adjustment, we put a new one on last year. Short term I just want to fix some of the minor problems. Maybe down the road I will pull the engine so that I can detail the engine bay and fix some of the leaks in the engine. I do see a time here in the near future when I will need to find a place to park it here at my home. It now lives in a beautiful 4 car garage, but I am not sure how much longer mom will keep the house. Dad's future will be some type of assisted care.
