Oh wait you meant a real one huh.
That is a cool model you found. I like the barn find look.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty neat that there are 'project' diecast models. Unfortunately, they don't make them in '66 coupes.

On the box it says
  • Found in a field or barn
  • Various stages of decay
  • May be missing parts & pieces
  • Waiting to be restored

I bought this one some time ago. I thought it was awesome...

Coleman's beater 67 gives me the same vibe. I don't think you can create it, it just kinda happens lol.

I have a mini-me project I haven't finished and it looks a lot like the photochop I made when I was trying to visualize what my car might look like....

I have been looking for Torq Thrust wheels. I found a tubbed Vette that had some but you will notice only the fronts are on the car! Still looking for some reasonably sized wheels for the rear.

Nice collection Craig. I think I have that same yellow boss 302 in my garage. :thu
A few years ago I bought a kit for a 70 vert on ebay. They only made 2 different models for a 70 convertible. I have yet to put it together as it was missing a bunch of parts.

that's pretty cool. I have a bunch of model car kits from when I was younger. Most of them are in bad need of repair. I still a have a big box full model cars and parts.

So are we both a couple geeks with model cars or what.

The red boss I put in the thread is one I built over 25 years ago and I probably have a dozen cars or so from when I was a kid. Why I kept them I have no idea.

sounds like we are a couple geeks then, I don't know why I kept them all these years either.

:sm_NTA Sorry, but every time a hear "70 Boss 429", my mind goes back to when I was 17-18 yrs old ( 1973-74) growing up in a little ( very little) town in central Virginia. Right out front of the local Texaco ( the guy that drove it worked there) always sat a light blue ( Grabber Blue?) 70 Boss 429 Mustang, 4 speed with a white interior. The thing is, someone had scattered the Boss motor, and this guy bought the car as a roller and put a 428 CJ in it. The car was very clean, but you know what seems strange today with 20/20 hindsight is that there never was any talk of "Man, you gotta get a Boss motor Back! Nothing like that. It was just another 3 -4 yr old muscle car - nice, but nothing super special. A block away was the local bank. My mom worked there as a teller. I distinctly remember a 70 Chevelle, LS -6. 454/450 that had been repo'd and it sat there under a tree beside the bank FOREVER. It had sort of been rode hard, and put away wet, had some dings on it, and again, nobody thought too much about it. Just another muscle car, and they were everywhere anyway in that day. All the guys that I looked up to that were 6-7yrs older than me, if they made it back from Nam safe, most of them also bought a new muscle car. Anyhow, forgive me for rambling on, but as I said at the outset, " 70 Boss 429" brings back memories of some special times.
