1970 Reproduction Dash Pad?

Anyone bought a 1970 repro dash pad from NPD lately? Im thinking about buying one to replace my cracked up original but they are kinda pricey and wondered about the quality of the repros these days. Hate to shell out the money on something thats poor quality or doesnt fit right.

Thanks

Sort of...

I bought a 69 dash pad which should be the same... Mine was for a non-AC car; the two dashes are different. The dash is an original Ford tooling dash and the fit was great once I figured out that I was an idiot... My car is a complete restoration, so I had removed the lower dash completely. The reason I had trouble with the dash pad was that I had the lower dash adjusted incorrectly... once I fixed that it was perfect.

As to the condition of the mould itself, the grain is good and there was only one small blemish about 3/4ths of an inch long and perhaps 1/32nd of an inch wide that looked like it was caused by a scratch in the mould. All in all a vast improvement over a cracked dash.

Good luck,

Absolutely, hands down, get the Ford Tooling version. I purchased one when they were on sale a few years back and the fit is near perfect. My buddy picked up a repro one that wasn't the Ford Tooling and he had some fitment issues with the overall width and getting the holes in the pad to line up with the factory mounting holes. Save yourself the hassle and the problems and shell out a few more bucks to get the Ford Tooling version. They go on sale every once in a while so just keep your eyes peeled!

I bought a ford tooling one on ebay a couple of years ago for near half the price the catalogs wanted for them. Fit and finish are awesome.

Bought a Dashes Direct 69 w/air original Ford tooling dash and it fit quite well. Being sure the lower is adjusted correctly is key. I paid $299 with free shipping from Kentucky Mustang a couple years ago, never seen them cheaper, great deal!!

Thanks for the info. Went with NPD $331. Probably could of found it cheaper but Ive always had good luck with their service. Was in stock and should have it in a few days.

Thanks again

I bought the Ford tooling one from NPD several years back. No complaints. Definately looks better than the cracked one and fits fine. :thu :thu

Same one I have installed now, Really like the stock looking pad altho it was like a WWF match to get all the screws in.
Good luck with yours. :beer
