Moby's On His Way!
« on: October, 21, 2010, 01:47:37 PM »
My "new" 1971 Mach I currently is on its way across the country to me!  My friend is driving it out from Ohio and he's drawing lots of attention with it.  He called earlier and after only a couple hours he'd already been challenged to race twice.  He's smart enough not to do that, especially with my car, but he said it's still fun to be noticed like that.  He probably won't get here until Tuesday since he's stopping to visit his parents enroute.  Waiting is so difficult!

He did say it does a heck of a burnout.    :omg

Will these do for now?  It's kind of hard for me to take photos in Ohio when I'm in Arizona.  Don't worry, there will be LOADS of pictures once the car gets here.  Also, it's going to its first car show on November 6th.  I don't waste time!

For a Mustang Tank, that is a good looking car. Something about the color combination makes it nice. Let me know when you need to hire someone to shuttle the cars to all the shows....I figure that could develop into a full time job driving them......

What wheels are you going to put on it?   Other than the wheels it looks clean and original.  Nice car I like thoes years they were big but they really look good.

I'm very partial to Magnums.  I think they'll look best on there, but I need to start doing research on this year.  It's pretty new to me.

Just put the Magnums from Trouble on Moby and you're good to go.

Then, maybe get Trouble some new wheels that fit her modified style!  ;)

Oh, but the Magnums with spinners ARE modified for Trouble. ;)

I won't use the spinners on the 71, just regular Magnums.

go with the 15x8" magnums on the rear. thats alot of car in the back end & tends to swallow up a wheel & tire.

That sounds good.  I know the wheelwells were tubbed at one point for larger tires, but they were restored to stock shape.  It's one of the reasons the car needs a repaint.

It will be at Pima Community College and it's to support the Explorer Scout program.   Let me find the flyer and I'll post the info.

Laurie, these big ones have large wheel wells in rear.  I can't remember what I put on the rear of the Boss, but I remember it was big.  I also remember rubbing every time the air shock lines broke.  Heck it was the early 80s....

That does look like fun.  I am green with envy!  So many cool cars and so little cash!  Oh, if you run out of room I am starting a Mustang boarding home for real cool Mustangs that need exercise and TLC.   :lol :lol :lol

The show is the Custom Car Show on November 6th, 9 am to 3 pm on the Pima Community College West campus, 2202 West Anklam Road.  It's a $10 entry fee.  I can e-mail a pdf of the flyer and entry form to anyone who wants one.
