well it was hot and I was very sweaty

I did get to meet Larry today! What a nice guy. it was great to walk around and look at the cars together. Thanks for sharing your umbrella! That Mach 1 is much better in person. Very nice car. He led us to our hotel and we snapped a couple pix of the cars together. Thanks again Larry!!!

Thanks Craig, It was great meeting and hanging with you and Tara today and seeing Tarafied in person. Great looking Mustang. It would have been nice to have clear and drier skies for your visit to the Motorcity, maybe next year, but we can't control mothernature. As for next year, Detroit to Arlington, Tx., I already got the OK if I decide to go.:)

yeah, dry would be nice but after the heat it felt pretty good.
I'm glad you got the okay, if we get the two guys from Wisconsin and all the Texas guys going we could have quite the showing of Stangfixers!!!

my pix don't do it justice! This is a blast, a rolling car show and so many cool people. It's hot and sometimes traffic is a pain or some idiot pisses you off (let tell you about that later) but overall it is more fun than anything else I have done. Car shows at the hotels every night, each resturaunt fills with cool cars, lots of neat drives. I will keep going as long as I can afford it or the car holds together!

I know I said this the last two years , but I am going make it next year. I had all the hotels booked and the wife talked into it this year if only I would have gotten the car done I would have been there.

If they do detroit to tx next year that would be cool. Did they say that might be the route?

Yes, Detroit to Arlington, Tx. was announced yesterday and will be the route next year. I don't think it will be leaving from Metro Beach, finishing point this year, but they will be leaving from somewhere in Metro Detroit.

we are already making plans for next year and we haven't even got home from this year yet!
today we went to the GM proving grounds and the rain held off. We got to drive our own cars on parts of the different tracks. There was a guy in a new Boss 302 that was messing around and they escorted him out of the facility! I did lay some Ford rubber though!
We didn't get out of there until about 2pm. We stopped tonight just South of Indy and will finish the drive home tomorrow.
The car has performed well in the heat and the rain. The only issue is that it's starting to pull to the left when I put on the brakes. Might have a caliper going bad. We had one stretch where we got 18mpg! We have gone almost 3,000 miles to this point and only spent about $700 on gas running premium.

Only long haulers were allowed in and they said never had such a large group been in the proving grounds. They flew a plane over all of us standing by our cars for the long hauler picture.

Thanks for the pictures Craig, looks like it was a nice finish of a week of fun car stuff. I really like the guy that got escorted out, Go Ford Guy, he may have been the guy, Friday at the stage,that wouldn't answer the Chevy guy's question about Chevy engine's, all he'd answer was about Ford Engine's.
Have a Safe drive the rest of the way home.

made it home today. A little over 3,000 miles, a little over $900 in gas, a little sun burnt, tired but the car did fine and it was a lot of fun. I can't wait for next year! I hope we have a few StangFixer's on the 2011 tour too!
It does look like my alignment get knocked out during the road trip. By the time I got home it was pulling to the left and the front tires are chewed up. I jacked it up and didn't see any obvious problem. Nothing feels loose. I don't know what happened but I did hit some massive pot holes in Indy so maybe bent something.
Anyway, all in all it was a great trip.

Craig, do you have the stock LCA eccentrics? Maybe they moved on one or both sides? Even one side moving would cause wear on both tires I would think.

yep, stock LCA eccentrics. That's what I'm hoping happened. looks like the camber is off too but for sure the toe is OUT! ruined both front tires, bummer. I hope the suspension isn't bent. I hit some pot holes and rough roads. Visually everything looks okay and nothing wiggles or moves.

yeah, back to Saudi, yuck. I'm sure there are plenty of nuts over there I could just take out whom ever gets on my nerves!
