Guys,
I have two Top Loaders and i need to identify them to see if i can use them.

First one - Tag ID
HEH B-T
010055
I can make out some of the numbers on the casing C5AR-7006 W-2
From my extensive internet research I have identified that this is
HEH-BT 1965 Mustang 289 close ratio

I have a 428. Can i use this transmission?

Second one - Tag is broken off
I can only make out C4AR - 7006 on the casing. What can i do to identify this one?

The toploader authority is a guy named David Kee. Do a web search and there may be some helpful info on his site.

But i already found David randomly on Google. I called him and a good chat with him.

When i bought my 428 motor I also bought my top loader but i was supplied with a 28" Spline, 14" tail, close ratio unit. David does not recommend this for the HP(400-450) my motor is generating.

Safe to say I will be making a call to South Carolina tonight..... ~sp

That close ratio unit isn't worth anything. Tell you what, I'll pay for shipping if you want to get rid of it;)

hahahahah shipping from Ireland!!!!.... a 1.9kg box from Ireland to the USA cost me $190 there last week...i can only imagine what a transmission would be....
