Need help with fuel line on my 1966 mustang
« on: October, 03, 2010, 01:12:14 PM »
I have a problem :lol not sure if anything can be done BUT I have a 3/8s fuel line and I have a mechanical Holley 12-289-20 fuel pump. The holley pump has a 5/8s inlet and a 1/2 out let ( -10 & -8). How do I go from a 3/8s fuel line stainless to a 5/8s braided hose to the inlet side of the pump? I see goin g from the outlet side 1/2 to the inlet side of the Y Block with two outlets that are 3/8 OR do I need to get a diffrent pump with 3/8s in and out? I will post a couple pictures..

This picture is the one that I have on the engine. The pump is a 170 gph set at 8 psi and I would need a regulator. It is brand new no fuel has been passed through it.

This is a picture of holleys 12=289-11 that is 110 gph and has 3/8s inlet and outlets.

I don't think there is a way to go from 3/8 to a 5/8s line... Thanks guys

Glad to be a memeber. I was introduced here by 70/fastback.Thank you. I have a blown 66 fastback & 1971 Boss 351&2008 grabber orange GT vert, and for my daily driving when the weather is bad I have a 1999 ford f-150 stepside.I am retired.I am a photo

While you're probably stuck using the 5/8ths inlet fitting on the pump, you should be able to buy/install a "step-up" adapter onto the 3/8ths fuel line fitting that will allow the smaller line to be mated to the larger fitting on the pump.

Take the fittings out of the pump, and replace them with barbed fittings.  Then just run a rubber fuel hose with clamps.  This is assuming you don't care about using braided line and AN fittings.
