Two steps forward, one step back!
« on: September, 24, 2010, 04:33:26 PM »
As you can see from my previous post I just got new tires/wheels for my project...

Not as easy as you might think - they were mail ordered and when the first set arrived they were the wrong tires...

Sent them back (I never unpacked them since I could read the sticker on the treads and see they were the wrong size) and they were damaged in shipping...

Dealt with UPS reports and finally got the correct tires... put them on, took a test drive and the brand new power steering hose burst and sprayed my entire detailed undercarriage!

Oh well, at least I got my test drive in!

If you're not already.... get used to little things going wrong.  It's rare that you won't have a few hiccups... especially during the break-in period.  Keep at it and all of the gremlins will disappear.

Is there a rubber isolator installed on your PS ram cylinder to frame bracket?  From the above picture it looks as if the steel washer is right up against the frame bracket.

Yup! The rubber spacer/bushing is installed... and I seriously doubt this will be the last problem during the shakedown/break in period! I wonder what will be next...

Rory you are right to expect more gremlins.  Just the nature of things.  Here's hoping they are all minor gliches my friend.  Your build looks really great!
