Memory check on something...
« on: September, 17, 2010, 12:48:52 PM »
I think I might actually get around to putting my new valve covers on this evening if all goes according to plan.

I was trying to recall though...if I have a set of the reusable Felpro gaskets am I correct in thinking you don't need to put any gasket sealer on them?

Got them installed.

I need to buy some new plug wires that cut to size but I'll get to that another day.

With the Felpro cork gaskets I've noticed in the last few years that they've started installing small metal "rings" into the cork around each bolt hole.  In theory, the metal rings are there to align the gasket and not distort the cork, but.... after the gasket has been in installed for a few hundred miles, the cork around the metal ring loosens and the metal ring will FALL OUT when you lift the valve cover off.  Be VERY careful that none of these metal rings fall out into your exposed valve train.
