Sad News from Camachinist (Pat Mack)
« on: September, 09, 2010, 06:55:56 PM »
Just learned that Camachinist (Pat Mack) lost his Mom on 8/29
to dementia. He was by her side throughout this entire horrible
ordeal until her brain just gave out.

Pat, Vincent and I am very sorry to hear this sad news

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know Pat had taken some time away to tend to his family.
My prayers go out to them.

My most sincere condolences to you Pat. I am currently walking down the same unforgiving path as you with my Mother. It is a slow and cruel thing to watch them slip away day by day. They say it's a part of life.....but it sucks. I feel your pain.

Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a long eight years and part of the reason why I haven't been as involved in the Mustang hobby as in the past.

August was a tough month, losing John, then my mom and then a good friend's mom a couple days later. Great reminder of how short and valuable life is.

If anyone is dealing with Alzheimer's and/or dementia in their family and wants someone to talk to who's been through it, I'll be happy to help and offer support. No one is alone in this.

Thanks again and I appreciate all the wonderful people who belong to this community. Take care.

Pat

Pat, I'm very sorry for your loss.

We lost my Grandma to Alzheimer's 10 years ago...  My dad, who is 64 years old(!!!), has been living in a group home for the past year and a half with some form of dementia as well.  In fact, the same group home/care facility that my Grandma lived and passed in.

I wouldn't wish these illnesses on my worst enemy.  The only positive you can say, is with their passing, the fear and bewilderment are gone and you can KNOW that they are in a better place.

Take care,

Kim

I can't relate to the dementia but I lost my mom over 12 years ago to cancer, she was only 51. Fought it two years, still I feel for you and your family. We'll keep you all in our prayers.

Terrible news. Our prayers are out you and your family.

Alzheimers has affected my in-laws, so we're familiar with the difficulties, challenges, and heartbreak. We can totally relate.
