Unisteer Power R&P on a 70, 351C
« on: September, 01, 2010, 09:48:15 AM »
I'm in the process of installing the Unisteer power R&P on my 70, with a 351C engine.
I'm having a problem installing the p/s pump. I've talked to Unisteer and they said that they never had a 351c in the shop to design brackets for this engine. Their sending my big block brackets but I really don't think that help much.
If anyone has installed the pump on a 351c (I don't think the year matters) I'd appreciate the help and pictures would be great.
In the meantime I'll be trying to figure something out.
Thanks

why would you order a rack from them if they never did one on a Cleveland engine? Rich.

I purchased the kit over 2 years ago and it was supposed to be for the 351 SB, I figured it would fit the 351C also but I was wrong.
Unisteer is sending me the brackets for the big block engines, not sure if that will help.
I've been working on trying to get something to work and I'm pretty close. Got the pump mounted, just have to make a bracket for the adjustment part, I know what I want just have to put it together. I should have it tomorrow.
The Cleveland is the engine that they don't make many parts for.

If you need a set of 302 brackets to try let me know, I tossed my pump in the corner and upgraded to a KRC pump and bracket from Shaun @ SorT

Fast68Back,  Thanks for the offer but I don't think the 302 brackets will help. As mentioned before I have big block brackets coming and I really don't think those will work but I may be able to use part of them.
Would you happen to gave some pictures of your setup. I really don't want to pop for a new pump, yet, I've already had to order a new set of headers to fit the rack.

I changed because the pump that came with my kit had a low RPM whine when turning, the KRC has been really nice. They are not cheap, but I am much happier with the new setup. There are a bunch of pictures and links to KRC for different stuff in this thread:

Thanks a lot. I didn't go to their website to look for those brackets, if what I'm trying to do doesn't work out I may go that route.
Your car has AC doesn't it?
How does the system work with the AC?

Ok, My car is an AC car that I will have working next summer so I was just wondering how that pump and bracket work with AC.
Thanks again.
