PO installed a new gas tank. How long ago, I don't know... but it's a newish tank. Luckily I don't have to mess with putting in a new one. I just thought it was funny that it was working, and the first time we filled up with gas.. it stuck at 1/4 tank. To me, that makes me think it's something to do with the sending unit/floater. Of course driving her down the interstate and the bumps of the road might have knocked some wiring loose? I have the dash cluster from JohnPro's 66 but not installed yet. The fuel gauge in that is suppose to work fine. I wonder.. could I temporarily undo the wiring from the current fuel gauge and hook it to the fuel gauge in the dash cluster, just to see if it's the gauge itself thats bad or it's something with wiring/sending unit?
It would be best to attach the entire dash cluster, as you'll need the appropriate wiring to the Constant Voltage Regulator and grounds as well. To do the test, you'll need to put the key in ACC or RUN; ACC is preferred.
