I think his post count at VMF was around 25,000 and about 98% of that amount was him helping others through their car issues. He was typically the first and sometimes the only person to respond to threads. You are new to the forums so its understandable to not know who he was.

You most likely had replies from him. Check and see.
As for his daughters car, he got the front suspension installed and I believe she is driving it now.
And, FYI, the '66 I now own was his........
