I support closing the site too, a nice gesture to pay respect

I vote to replace my CoTM spot with John's SCARY. I've always wanted to win the prize, but seeing it up there now and  knowing I was up against John makes me feel kinda' ashamed.

While I appreciate your willingness to give up your spot, I'm quite certain John would want you to have your moment. You've earned it and it's yours.

There is nothing to be ashamed about. You were chosen by your peers to be COTM.

Scary will be incorporated somewhere in the site in a permanent way. Just not sure how to handle it yet.

Closing is fine for a few hours. Just have a pic of John or  John and Scary (not the 66),  saying something like in rememberance of Johnpro.  Then by midnight, turn it back on.  He would not want too much fuss about him to prevent fellow mustangers to communicate to each other.

Strangely enough, I was talking to Deb about this earlier and she said almost the same thing as Craig.

I feel like I'm in an alternate world.

The plan is to close the site only during his actual service.

Someone present for the service want to volunteer to give me a heads up when it is finished?

Sluggo,
I will txt mssg you when the service is done.  But I wouldn't be too much in a hurry to turn it back on.  I'd say 11am - 2pm PST (3 hours) to force people to go out and either work on or drive their Mustangs.

I will use a bigger version of the pic on the header and urge those that are not attending the service in person to honor John by either working on their car or driving it. And remember.  :WOP

Along with the closing page with John and Scary....add a note "We are out in our Mustangs in honor of John".

Nice top on the site.

John enjoyed the joke with all of us.

He truly did.  He and Tracey recounted to me often how they'd follow Waldopro's exploits and get a lot of laughs out of the pictures.   :)

John and Scary could be the COTM every month for all I care!

John has COTM coming and has for a long time in my opinion.  I nominated him Months ago and it didn't go anywhere, so I quit voting.  John has my support!!!!!

Dale, I'm with Randy here. I would hope you would still be proud to be the car of the month. Looks like Randy and everyone here are coming up with great ideas to memorialize John. I'm sure there will be a lasting tribute to him here on the site. I would expect nothing less from this group. Don't feel bad, and enjoy your month in the sun. You absolutely deserve it!

Exactly why we are trying the new format. I personally think 20 some odd people voting for COTM is a little lame.

I know how much cancer sucks first hand. We are having a car show benefitting relay for life at the end of the month.  My wife is making the awards, and I'll have her put a picture of his Mustang on the "Best Ford" as a tribute. I'll post a pic once it's done. Justin
