65 LF Master cylinder reservoir mounting location?
« on: August, 01, 2010, 08:44:20 PM »
Hey Bruce, welcome to Stangfix!\

I bought one of the first LF Master Cylinder set ups you released. The instructions weren't very complete since nothing was finalized yet. I've gotten everything mounted just fine except the reservoir. I'm thinking just left of the brake booster but wondered if you had a recommended location?

Have you learned anything new on the 65-66 set ups or changed anything since the first release?

Thanks, Ryan

I struggled finding a good location to mount the reservoir as well.  I ended up drilling holes in the rear top portion of the shock tower and mounted it there.  It's basically in the corner and had to mess with the underhood wiring to get everything to clear.  I initially made a bracket to hold the reservoir to the bent tab on the firewall/cowl flange that has the holes for wiring harness clips (like for the hood scoop indicators).  The power brake booster was in the way but probably could have just lengthened the reservoir hose.   I too would be up for better ideas, but mine is somewhat hidden yet accessible. I'm able to hold a large brake fluid container in the engine bay above the brake booster and fill the reservoir easily.
