Did the same thing on Sunday while installing pavers for a picnic table patio.  Knew better, but was anxious to get done.  Spent all afternoon laying on the floor watching TV.  L5-S1 disc is my problem.  Usually takes me almost a month to be able to get back to k working on the car.

Yeah, I'm not so concerned about the car, I have a trip to White Sands this weekend for work and I need to be able to make it.  I have an appointment tomorrow with a sports ortho type doctor and they have physical therapy in house.  If they want to use that electric shock type therapy, give me drugs, or shoot me up with anything to fix it, I don't care as long as I make my flight Saturday afternoon.

I'm up and about, it just hurts to do anything.

My back has done this many times. I stopped doing really stupid stuff and it stopped putting me in bed for a week. I all too well remember crawling to the bathroom, unable to stand erect. Mine started when I was 13, trying to take a blade off an edger. I was pulling a wrench and pushing another trying to break the nut loose. Suddenly it felt like someone hooked my lower back up to a 110v outlet. I fell on the ground and laid there for atleast 20 minutes.

If you pinch a disc, it will swell up and rub the spinal cord. You have to leave it alone and let the swelling go down. Muscle relaxers might help but I won't take them because they KO me.

So the wife just went to work, and I'm too sore to do anything with the parts I have.  That would change if the NPD order showed up today.  So I'm doing the next best thing, watching Dirty Harry on the Roku.

I think Sam has back issues.

Good one Duane-

FWIW, I had this problem on and off for a few years. Saw several docs. Then around five years ago we started going to a doc that has a chiropactor in practice with him. Go to the chiro every other month or so, and no issues for going on 5 years. Worked for me, and a great deal for a $120 (6 visits) worth of copays IMO.

Just got back from the ortho doc.  Had some kind of slipped SI, something to do with where the pelvis meets the spine.  With the bones out of alignment, it was putting tension on the back muscle causing a spasm.  He had me do a push-pull deal with my legs which got the pelvis back in alignment and tension instantly gone.  Still have some residual pain from 2 days of continuous spasm but I'm fully mobile again.

Going to take it easy for now.

That said, my NPD delivery did come in this afternoon, many parts already installed!!!  Pics to follow in another post, probably on the build thread.
