Is there something wrong with the brushed aluminum insert? It's difficult to determine from the photos, but it almost looks as if the insert has been replaced with a piece of shiny metal..... it's probably just the picture.

It'll need some cleanup type work and new map light lenses, but for a $100 including both brackets you did alright.
