Drove Murphy Today
« on: May, 10, 2010, 09:29:16 AM »
I had to take my 68 coupe into the shop to get the spring replaced in the brake booster and the a/c recharged.  It's no fun driving when you have to use your foot to pull the brake pedal back up.  Had a nice drive, about 8 miles, and got a lot of looks.  Even had the fun of a few quick accelerations to get around the pokeys.  I want to drive Murphy more so I'm getting the car ready for that.

Gosh I still remember Murphy (and you of course) from the big MCA show in Pensacola Fl about 12 or 13 years ago.  Take care of Murphy and don't let any of those idiots run in to him.  We've got plenty of those around here too (idiots I mean)...lol.

Hey, when you're driving your special baby with bad brakes among crazy Tucson drivers in morning rush hour traffic, a photo is the last thing you think about.  I'll get one when I pick it up.  :)

Very cool Laurie.

I was in P'cola 12-13 years ago, big show there probably March or April, 1998.  That the one?  I wasn't on forums yet at the time, so didn't know anybody.  I picked up my console and dash clock at the swap meet at that show.

I stopped by the shop this morning to drop off four cans of Freon for Murphy's a/c system.  It was an interesting sight, two 68 coupes nose-to-nose in one of the bays.  The guys there are telling everyone that one car is "before" and the other is "after."  The other poor 68 there is beat to hell and is a rust bucket.  They also told me Murphy is drawing a lot of attention.

Sorry, forgot the camera.
