Engine troubles 289
« on: May, 08, 2010, 05:17:32 PM »
Recently acquired a 65 Coupe with a 289. The car has sat in storage for almost 30 years... rarely driven or started. I changed all the fluids in the car and rebuilt the carb. Gotta it running, new tires, exhaust, tune-up, etc... actually sounds real strong, however it has a very noticeable tick / clatter. I suspect I have a couple collapsed lifters, )-:

Anyone suggestions or had any luck with fixing this without changing out the lifters...
