acceptable ?
« on: April, 15, 2010, 05:15:36 AM »
I am putting on my hood and fenders after I had align the doors.
Its pretty good accept at the cowl , the gaps at the cowl/fenders are not equal left to right. :po
Should I go for it to have it even or should I let it this way so the rest line up very well. :sur
Your opinion please.Thx.

Differents between LH and RH gap is 1 millimeter = 0.0393700787 inch

Personally,  I wouldn't lose any sleep over a 1 millimeter difference.  I'd live with it as is.

Those are nice and tight and even.

I noticed how it gets really tight at the top front of the driver's door.  Mine did the same thing.  I wonder if all '67 - '68's get a little cozy there.

I tried to run my fender-to-cowl gaps that tight and my painter wouldn't let me.  He insisted that there be a larger gap to keep the panels from bumping and chipping the paint.  He said these cars flex more than we think, so mine are a little wider.  I would have slammed them together if I could.  My 'glass hood was a little wide, too, so the extra room was a good thing.

I also had to run larger gaps at the front and back of the pass door than the driver's door.  The opening was simply bigger for some reason.  I couldn't pull the pass fender farther back without messing something else up.  My car must be a little crooked.

You must have a nice, straight car.  Congrats.

After...

Damn Bruno, that has got to be the lousiest job of lining up sheet metal that I've ever seen. Pack that thing up and send it to me. You don't want to be seen cruising around in that crooked arssed raggedy looking car. :craz

[member][gmod]bout time someone gave me something to do[/gmod][/member]

Ok, Guess that's not happenin. Guess I gotta come clean. Bruno, that is friggin remarkably dead laser straight and the gaps look perfect. As said before, Ford never got them like you did. Beautiful!
