What are they for?
« on: September, 23, 2008, 04:51:41 AM »
The curly springs that you see wrapped around rear end axle housing brake lines?   And where exactly do they reside?  If for vibration dampening, I'd think they would go where the clips are along the axle housing. Or are they to protect the lines from exhaust? Hmmmmmm.  Maybe that's it.

My understanding is they are there to help protect from road debris like rocks from damaging the lines.

If so, then why isn't there any on the smaller driver's line?

When I got my Granada 9" from the bone yard it had it on both sides.  I don't know if the mustang rears had it on both sides.  Maybe the lines are not original?
