What paint did you use on your undercarriage?
« on: January, 10, 2010, 02:39:20 PM »
What paint did you use on the undercarriage of your Mustang (floorpans, frame rails, etc)?  How did it hold up?  I've heard many use undercoating so if you used undercoating I would like to hear about it also.

I'm trying to figure out what type of paint I should use.  I want some opinions first on what works well.

Thanks!

I used DP74LF primer.  It's held up extremely well.

+1 for Zero Rust and for a San Jose car it's a fair representation for what was on it (well kind of).  It's been almost 2 years now and it has held up very well.

I really like how the Zero Rust turned out underneath your car Jack1966.

For those who used Zero Rust, did you use a spray can or spray gun?

combination of spray gun and brushing it on--was interested in the protection more so than the aesthetics.  also did the interior and floorpans at the same time.

Since I wasn't concerned with looks, I just brushed it on the undercarriage.  It would look better if it were sprayed.
