I am trying to gather up enough parts for the next phase of my project and i wanted to order seam sealer, bonding adhesive for the FG bodykit and underbody sealer. The 3M "stuff" is 50% more expensive over here so I want to buy it in the US and chuck it into my next container.

The products I am looking at are

3M 8115 Panel Bonding Adhesive
3M 08307, Automix Self-Levelling Seam Sealer
3M 08864, Body Schutz Rubberized Coating Black,

I have looked on www.drillspot.com and they seem expensive. $45 per tube of the 8115. then I found www.repaintsupply.com that are a whole lot cheaper than drillspot.com. The big drawback with the 3M products is that you have the buy the applicator guns which is $240 for the 8115 and $40 for the seam sealer.

Has anyone used the 3M products? Any other recommendations on products, suppliers, etc?

smartshoppersinc.com and tcpglobal.com are two of the best places I've found for cheap paint supplies. Both place have a lot of 3M stuff too. I've ordered most of my supplies from TCP and I'll probably order my paint from them when the time comes...can't beat ~$15 for a can of body schutz and $20 for a generic schutz gun. :D

I've heard very bad things about 3M seam sealer and seen pics to prove it...looks like it starts coming off in chunks as soon as it dries. I've had great luck with Lord Adhesives products, even glued some seat mounts in with some of their aircraft grade stuff. Plus their 2-part seam sealer cures in 10 minutes and can be used in a regular caulking gun. I know a couple of body guys who swear by the Lord stuff for everything from metal to FG, and their FG products are quite a bit cheaper than 3M...might be worth looking into.

PM me. I think i have a gun for that 8115 i can loan you for a while.

I'm pretty sure that's what i used to glue the side scoops on the 67. If so, you'll like it. Takes a while to cure. Once cured you can sand it to shape. Makes nice seamless joints.
