Amazing Ride Today In Park City
« on: August, 29, 2008, 06:57:08 PM »
I finally found a wilder ride than Trouble--a bobsled!  Stan Edington, Linda Gillete (Chuck Wiltens SWMBO), and I rode the Comet.  It's a bobsled on wheels that goes down the Olympic bobsled run here.  It's a 400 foot drop in 45 seconds and you pull 4 G's in the corners.  Each sled holds three passengers and the driver.  It was absolutely amazing.  We did learn that you shouldn't eat less than hour before riding it.  Our top speed was 65 mph and we were the fastest run of the day.  I got off and my back was hurting badly from the twisting.  After a couple of drinks, it felt better.  Stan's SWMBO took pictures and I'll post them when I get copies.

Laurie, I think I rode that when we went to Park City last year. Is that the one with a brake?

No, I think that's the other ride.  No brake on the one we were on.  Just a wild ride to the bottom.
