LongBranch Cruise In pics. Oct. 02, 2009
« on: October, 05, 2009, 06:47:47 PM »
Just a few pics from last Friday's cruise night.  Not many cars there, the weather was a bit drab and cold.  But still some really nice cars, and even a few new comers.

This guy was a newb there.  All original car - except for wheels and the new carb he said. His wife was the original owner.  Super nice guy,  that was him there in the hat.

AMX:

Another AMX:

Check out the shock tower mods on this one to clear his headers.  Beautiful car too!

And the gratiutous pic of my own car  :nice

Some nice rides there.

Brings back memories of frost heaved parking lots!

Nice pics.   Fenderwell headers, man, that is some old school stuff. I've always liked the little Nova's.

Nice rides J, looks like you could've had some serious "scoop envy" going on.

You and me both!

Before I ever bought my first classic Mustang and got swallowed into this whole "Mustang recreational activity", I was looking for a muscle car, pretty much any would have done as I wasn't too particular.  I looked at a '67 Firebird (too far gone), a '67 Camaro RS (owner had a $1500 FS sign on the car, but wouldn't answer his hotel room door), a 100% complete/stock M code '70 Coupe (that I eventually decided upon) and a '65 ChevyII SS 'vert (this was my #1 choice, but I couldn't convince the owner to sell it).

If the owner of that ChevyII would have caved into my pressure, there's no telling I'd be now, but it likely wouldn't be here.

That's awesome Jeff!  I never saw the owner around either. I would have liked to chat with him.

There is a new R/T at the Chrysler dealer in town (only car dealer), been there quite awhile, it's a nice looking ride and looks so much like the original. I'd give it an A- on the new car cool-o-meter.

There are 15-20 of them running around my little neck of the woods...  Two of my co-workers each own one.  One of which is an R/T and I'm told it's actually faster than it looks.... if that's possible because it looks pretty fast to me!

Those wheels look like crap on that AMX.  I like the rest, though.

I believe all Javelins are 4 door.

I thought the Javelins were 4 passenger cars, and the AMX were only 2 seaters...

that's right, probably what John meant too. They are so ugly they are cool! I had a friend that had several Javelins and an AMX (shorter wheelbase with no back seat) Javelin.

Is that a Hudson pickup?

Married to Tara, that makes me the TARA-fied one!

Nope.  Was over there Sunday for a second.  The car is sitting outside, 100% exposed to the elements.  The paint is starting to fade now.  The surfac rust is looking worse and the rust stains are running down the sides of the car now.

It really is a shame.  They are just to damn dumb to realize what they are doing.  Fuggin idiots.
