Just got a call from my Mom & Dad, they just wanted to tell me they were eating fresh shrimp at a place in Palatka....they were laughing during the entire, short call!

I blame myself, I started the whole thing years ago when I was in Florida and my nephew (9 at the time, now 17) was out here after moving from Bunnell. I'd call him everytime I was eat'n shrimp. He would do the same back at me when he'd go down there and it was always hilarious.

This is the first time my parents have joined in on the fun........mean ole coots :rofl

It'll be a good laugh when I'm on my deathbed and he calls to tell me he's eating fresh shrimp :toot

Hey, wait a minute, whats wrong with mountain oysters? I used to hold the hogs for several farmers around here while they "cut" them, I kept the "oysters" and we had a party at the volunteer fire dept. and ate them, calf oysters are a little richer and softer than pigs, turkey "jewels" are probably the best but cashy to buy, also have to poke each one before frying to prevent exploding in the hot grease!---back to the shrimp it is hard to beat fresh grilled shrimp!

Boy I'll tell ya, livin next to the seafood capital of South Carolina is nice! I guess I take it for granted. Fresh shrimp daily! Sorry Mark. Guys on the street selling them for 5.99 a pound! Mmmmmmm, Guess I know what's for dinner tonite! :toot

Speaking of.......... I called them back last night to laugh with them and asked where my greens are. Apparently the little stand they have close by sold all he had and is growing the next crop. As soon as he has them out they're sending me a pallet.

If you ever saw all of the ingredients that go into hot dogs, beef sticks, and processed meats you probably wouldn't eat any of those either. They throw very little away in a processing plant.

My Grandfather owned and operated Smith Packing Co. in Sioux City, Iowa in the 50-60's. I remember many days spent there helping and watching the action from one end to the other. The day always ended with a dang good cut of meat for supper. Remember it well and I still never stopped eating whatever they produced.
