Yes that is the time consuming part. But that is where you start to see progress.
Thanks

The color is 2009 Mustang Candy Apple Red. It looks dark because it was cloudy out when the picture was taken. It is pretty bright out in the sun.
Thanks

Sluggo Thanks! I almost joined the Grabber Orange Club. You got a nice 69. G.O. was the original color with a black vinyl top. But i fell in love the Red on the painters 2009 Mustang GT. I had the car since I was 16 yrs old and have been restoring it for about 8 years. It has been a long process. I'm really satisfied with the outcome.
Thanks again

Thanks tarafied1. I haven't seen many coupe's around.

Thanks, It just got painted in June. I have to finish buffing and some minor crap still. Time is hard to come by right now.

A GO 70 model coupe with black vinyl top? Errr........we need to see some pics of that. That seems like a pretty rare combo on a coupe. Can't say I've ever seen it.

The color you picked is spot on. That car just looks like it should be that color.

Sluggo likes the coupes. My next victim errr... project is going to be a 66 coupe. Someday.

Sluggo,
When I got the stang it was silver with a black top. Somebody painted it with a cheap paint job. The car was only 6 years old at the time. My thoughts were to do away with the vinyl top, paint it GO, with black stripes. (Like Jeremy's fastback).

Nice job Rick.  Looks very good.  On a side note, what is the current ratio of coupes to slanteyes, er fastbacks?

Of all of the classic Coupes, 1970 is by far my personal favorite.... and you NAILED the color perfectly!

Any self-imposed goal for the first test drive?

Thanks Dave.

I have more parts on order. Just cannot bring myself to install old part back on the car.
I would like to have it completely done early 2010.

early 2010.

So, five to six months from now?  Certainly attainable, but you don't have a lot of time to waste.

I have all the interior, grill, bumpers, tail lights and head lights to install. I have everything either on order or have already in my shop. I haven't decided on the door panels. Deluxe or standard? And your right there is no time to waste. It has been awhile and I'm ready to get it on the road.
